  • Southern Miss’ graduation rates have continually improved during Bower’s tenure and the program was nationally recognized by the AFCA in four of the past five years

  • Head football coach Jeff Bower was selected the Conference USA Coach of the Decade and has earned conference coach of the year honors on three separate occasions (1997, 1999, 2003)
  • Southern Miss players have earned All-American honors 44 times, including at least one All-American in each of the past 11 years
  • Southern Miss has had nine freshman All-Americans in the past 11 years

  • Jeff Bower has had 24 players drafted into the NFL and currently has 15 former players on NFL rosters
  • The NFL’s only three-time MVP Brett Favre, of the Green Bay Packers, played at Southern Miss

  • C-USA Team of the Decade:  Four Championships in 11 Years (1996, 1997, 1999, 2003) and the East Division Championship in 2006.

  • Southern Miss is the only school in C-USA to post three undefeated league records, including an 8-0 record in 2003
